You need to stand out in a sea of sameness...

Ever seen one of those posts where an entrepreneur announces that their product is now carried in a major retailer?
Usually the post will include a photo of their product on the shelf. And if you're anything like me, you'll have no idea which product is theirs.
Practically everything on the shelf looks identical. Especially if you don't know much about the category.
Those posts are always a reminder to me of how difficult the retail game is. We've been told that you have to cut through a sea of sameness in retail, but those pictures of 20+ identical drink brands, chip brands, etc. really drive the point home.
Retail is always going to be hard, but here are my 3 takeaways after some reflection.
1. You need to stand out (so people notice)
2. You need to visually communicate the benefits (so people try)
3. You need a great product (so people buy again)
Any other tips on how to stand out in a sea of sameness?
